searching for the right therapist?

Meet Sam (she/her)

I am a St. Louis transplant who is twelve years into their five year plan and leaning into my second career as a therapist. How I show up in sessions is primarily led from the many hats I have worn as both a human, parent, partner, small biz owner, and CODA (Child of Deaf Adults).

In my own experience with therapy, which started as a place to unload, I quickly recognized the value of story-telling. This process, with my own therapist, led me to “parts work” or what some refer to as Internal Family Systems (IFS) which sparked my desire to become a therapist.

Therapy with me

Working with me is a hurts-so-good approach. Some people love my depth focused lens and others may feel intimidated by it. Nonetheless, my expertise as an IFS therapist allows us to focus on your goals and guiding you through your parts and what they may need to get there.

Clients who wish to work with me often self identify as high-achievers, perfectionists, or people-pleasers. They may carry a badge of resilience and appear to have their sh!t together when inside they don’t . Although it may feel awkward, because let’s be honest, talking about yourself is, our work together is match your insides with what others see outside.

I feel it needs to be said that my approach is sensitive to issues of culture, gender, and sexuality. Though these identifying factors might not correlate to your presenting problem, please know that I will take them into account, especially as we identify the systems that impact them.
